I regularly get either the fresh bowl (add papaya and cabbage) or the green salad (add rice noodles) -- they basically end up being the same -- with chicken and fish sauce. It's so consistent and is always delicious and fresh. One of my favorite salads!

Best bahn mi I've had since moving to California. The service was so speedy and the roast duck bahn mi was to die for. Perfect veggie, meat, and cilantro ratio with delicious bread. There was quickly a line behind us but they handled it amazingly. It's a little shop that packs in a lot of seating and I would love to have their food again.

The absolute best banh mi in sf. Better than the tenderloin place. Get duck with extra pork belly. Delicious bread, meat, picked veggies and sauce

Yummy semi hole-in-the-wall place! Great banh mi that can be made vegan. The tofu was delicious and seasoned well. Service was quick and efficient. To make the banh mi vegan they omitted the mayo but I do think it would taste even better with some sort of vegan mayo option.

I think I'd try the banh mis next time; the bowl was decent but this place looks more known for its banh mis

Have now eaten here twice in 2 days for lunch. So delicious, had the chicken and the tofu sandwiches. Second time around just the tofu - spectacular! Only complaint is I wish I could get more hot peppers. Would love to post pictures, but couldn't wait to eat

Reliable Spot for Delicious Banh Mi! I'm a big fan of Dragoneats, especially their Hayes location! The banh mi sandwiches are consistently tasty, with the garlic chicken breast and roasted duck being my top picks. The prices are reasonable, ranging from $10-$12 per sandwich. One of the highlights of my experience is the addition of the soup, which is a flavorful ginger chicken broth packed with kale, lime juice, shallots, and cilantro. The poignant flavors complement the sandwich perfectly, making for a satisfying meal. While I haven't ventured to try the bowls or rolls yet, I appreciate the reliability of Dragoneats. If you're looking for a good deal, you might want to explore other options like Saigon Sandwich on Larkin (though be prepared for tricky parking!). Overall, Dragoneats is a solid choice for a tasty and filling meal. Recommended for: Banh mi lovers, reliable food spot Price range: $10-$12 per sandwich Tips: Add the soup to your order, try the garlic chicken breast or roasted duck, and consider parking options at the Hayes location.
